Paradise Lost

from Dysthymia by Attilan

/

about

The opening track is the beginning of a depressive episode and the anxiety attack. You could be swimming in paradise when something suddenly triggers the darkness. That's when you start thinking about every mistake you've made, and everything negative in your life. This is when you lose your paradise.

lyrics

Disillusioned mind brings chills
A smile within my daily pill
Loss of sleep makes me ill
Impossible to just stand still
Am I the only one afraid?
Why did, my mind, this thought pervade?
Fences erect where flowers laid
Is this prison one I've made?

Does God extend his hand to the wicked and the damned?
Playing mistress to trepidation, I fall further from elation
Counting all that I've done wrong, I see the list is growing long
When being jocund becomes my vice, I think I've lost my paradise

Sweaty palms with slight incisions
Curled up in fetal position
Voices whisper somber truths
Innate need to find a roof
Veil my woes in sheets of laughs
But who will write my epitaph?
Sable goddess kiss my head
When I wake up, will I be dead?
